What is this?

General semantics is an interdisciplinary field of study aimed at understanding and improving human communication, interdependence, and psychological wellbeing. It studies the traditional principles of language, logic, and epistemology, as well as modern cognitive neuroscience principles. It explores how our human experiencing, language, and symbolic systems shape our understanding of the world and our actions. Its core objective is to enhance our understanding of complex relationships and our tools for classifying and making meaningful distinctions between different systems. It seeks to create a science of relations to help us develop a deeper understanding of our behavior and to improve the precision and clarity of our concepts and words.
